Key Ingredients
Sulfur
Underutilized powerhouse ingredient that treats acne, pore congestion, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema and more. Kills bacteria and gently exfoliates. A building block of our bodies, it’s well tolerated by most skin. (We promise you won’t get the “typical” sulfur smell thanks to yummy essential oils in our formula.)
Used in
GritSalicylic Acid
One of the best known ingredients for acne. Gets its stellar reputation due to molecules that are small enough to actually get inside pores to exfoliate and clear congestion.
Used in
GritJojoba Esters (Beads)
Made from hardened jojoba seed oil, these beads are soft, round gentle exfoliators. Better still, jojoba oil is structurally close to sebum (the natural oil secreted by sebaceous glands) so it can reduce oiliness. No plastic beads or harsh walnut shell powder around here!
Used in
GritPumice
Super soft and super fine, pumice powder is an über gentle physical exfoliant for the skin. Derived from volcanic ash. (We think that’s pretty cool..)
Used in
GritSnow Mushroom (Tremella Fuciformis)
Also known as Silver Ear Mushroom and Snow Fungus. A natural hyaluronic acid that deeply hydrates, boosts collagen production and reduces irritation. It’s edible and loaded with antioxidants.
Used in
QuenchGlycerin
Oldie but goodie humectant. Attracts and holds water in the skin. Plays well with occlusives like oil to seal in hydration.
Niacinamide
Standout ingredient that is a form of Vitamin B3. A must-have for combatting hyperpigmention and maintaining the skin barrier.
Used in
QuenchLicorice Root Extract
It’s like first aid for the skin. Reduces redness, soothes and calms. Also combats hyperpigmentation.
Used in
QuenchCloudberry Seed Oil
Extracted from edible Rubus Chamaemorus berries. Packed with antioxidants including Vitamins C and E. Stimulates collagen production, protects skin from free radical damage, and targets hyperpigmentation. Combats signs of aging and inflammation.
Used in
ShieldRosehip Seed Oil (Rosa Canina)
Anti-inflammatory oil. Full of nourishing essential fatty acids, Omega 3, 6 and 9. Heals skin and is especially good for eczema and psoriasis.
Used in
ShieldBakuchiol
Plant-based retinol. Stimulates skin cell turnover, improving tone and texture. Tolerated well by sensitive skin.
Used in
ShieldJojoba Seed Oil
A skincare favorite. Mimics skin’s natural sebum, so helps to regulate oil production. Light and absorbs quickly, making it suitable for oily skin. Plays well with other ingredients.
